Hey Barry:
Y'all gotta get your econs to read this here bout trade:
"Hi Michael.
You may be interested to know I am now in a running online debate about free trade organized by WorldTradeLaw.net and the Cato Institute, a libertarian think-tank in Washington. WorldTradeLaw.net is the moderator; as they explain it:
On the free trade side will be Dan Griswold of the Cato Institute, who has a recent book out called Mad about Trade: Why Main Street America Should Embrace Globalization. On the protectionism side will be Ian Fletcher, whose book Free Trade Doesn't Work: What Should Replace it and Why I reviewed here.
The opening statements of our debate are here:

Griswold: http://worldtradelaw.typepad.com/ielpblog/2010/02/the-great-trade-debate-daniel-griswold-main-street-america-benefits-from-global-engagement.html
Counter-arguments are scheduled for next Tuesday, March 2, so keep your eyes open!

Haitian Them Econs
Hey Barry:
So's I read econs a little an Ima expectin heartless crap from them, but not from you Barry. Not from you.
Here's wot I'm talkin: y'all wants US corps to buy from Haiti one percent of all the clothes they buys. Sounds good, but Barry here's da ting:
Jordanie Pinquie Rebeca makes them clothes there now an she earn $3.09 per day, which even the sweatshop owners say is not a living wage.
Thas right, even the boss says that the money aint no good. Now how in the hell are the folks there gonna get better lives if'n a full time job don pay for nuthin?
An ya know the sickness of it is this: good ol USA calls the thang 'Project Hope'.
Positively depressin, Barry.
We needs more from you than we gettin now.
Work on it Barry, y'all is the onliest one who maybe gives a crap.
Your pal
