Ebola News Pushes Back Doomsday Clock to 2146
Barry, My Liege :
While Ebola is still a terrible disease and still spreading, there are some developments which offer hope that this particular disease may not overwhelm humanity's ability to survive.
First, a vaccine has been deveoped. While testing has been halted temporarily
[http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30432079], the real possibility of a vaccine demonstrates our specie's ability and will to address the disease.
Secondly, the rise in new cases has slowed in Liberia [http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/outbreaks/2014-west-africa/cumulative-cases-graphs.html].
This demonstrates that humanity has the ability to rise to this challenge. Unfortunately, Ebola treatment in Sierre Leone and Guinea has not increased its effectiveness similarly.
Nevertheless, these two developments are sufficient to push back Humanity's Expected demise by one year to 2146.
Your faithful servant,
