Your Justice Department recently dropped criminal charges against Goldman Sachs in a publicized case [http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/09/goldman-sachs-justice-department_n_1762455.html?utm_hp_ref=business].
This action gives the appearance of an impropriety because Goldman Sachs is a contributor to your Presidential campaigns.
My Liege, such an appearance can create doubts about the independence of your office, regardless of facts.
We live in times where the Federal Government of the United States of America has been proven to be and is perceived as corrupt.
While you may have the opportunity to correct our drift toward oligarchy in a second term, your legacy may not reflect your actions if you allow any perceptions of impropriety to persist.
Such appearances can brand you as another corrupt politician.
That would be your legacy.
In order to create a positive image in history, your administration should be perceived as aggressively pursuing those firms and individuals who contributed to the economic collapse of 2007 and 2008.
My Liege that does not seem to be the case.
More to the point, such appearances of impropriety encourage actions by others which harm the Economic National Security of the United States.
It gives the impression that wrongdoers will not be prosecuted as long as they make sizeable campaign contributions.
And, if that is so, then why would any person take trouble to be honest when honesty is not rewarded at the highest levels ?
Remember what Jesse 'Big Daddy' Unruh said about lobbyists : "If you can't eat their food, drink their booze, screw their women and then vote against them, you have no business being up here."
My Liege, we would like to think that you are in the right place to protect us from the oligarchs.
