Arctic Methane
Barry, My Liege :
One of the consequences of global warming is a melting of Arctic ice shelfs and tundra and a consequent large release of trapped methane gas into the atmosphere.
Large releases of this methane would be catastrophic for humanity since such releases would accelerate global warming significantly.
Although this process has already begun, it is not occurring rapidly enough for concern - at the moment.
